Fashion, as we know it, started before we were even born. Fashion mattered in every generation. It went from simple wear, just plain custom shirts to formal attire with the gowns and hoopskirts and other garment related to these. They hop from plain simple, to edgy to chic and back to simple again and the cycle went over again.
In movies with settings on the middle-age times, we saw how puffy ball gowns, and huge hairdo’s screamed fashion and we can’t blame them. It did look good during those times. And then we saw movies like Grease, and noticed how the fashion statement of men, shadowed the fashion statement of women. These men were wearing tight leather jeans showing off the ankle, leather jackets over cool colored dress shirts, hair pushed back, while for the women, the wore long skirts and knitted sweaters. These movies were popularized way back in the 60’s or 70’s?
Now that we are already in the 21st century, we still see skinny jeans, platform heels, puffed sleeves, jumpers, leather jackets, high-waist shorts, and simple but pleasant designed custom shirts, among others. However, we didn’t even realize that these trends were once popularized during the times of our grandparents. This explains that fashion is a never ending process. Thus, fashion is rotating, revolving 360 degrees, and to give them a formal terminology, these types of clothes are called Vintage-wear.
Indeed, these kinds of fashion are really IN during these days. Vintage attire are loved by a lot of fashionistas now adays despite its being antique. As a matter of fact, there are several designers with huge names in the indutry that continue to design and create garments that bear the vintage theme.
Despite their being a bit expensive, there are several women who still push for these items and designs. However, this time, they dig in in their great grandparents’ treasure chest of vintage garments. Trends are inspiring, but it is not necessary that we follow them down to its pit. A simple act of creavitiy will definitely do the trick .
